The Georgia Solidarity Network (GSN), a bipartisan political action committee dedicated to supporting pro-Jewish and pro-Israel policies in Georgia, has appointed Karen Isenberg Jones as its new executive director.
Jones has more than a decade of experience in political advocacy, government affairs, and Jewish communal leadership. Most recently, she served as the director of political and government affairs at the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeastern United States. There, she helped to establish the Georgia-Israel Legislative Caucus, a bipartisan initiative to promote ties between Georgia and Israel.
“Karen’s steadfast commitment to issues important to Georgia’s Jewish community, understanding of Georgia politics and her network of relationships make her the ideal choice to lead GSN at this pivotal moment,” the GSN board of directors wrote in a press release. “Her leadership will strengthen GSN’s advocacy for the Jewish community and deepen the strategic, economic, and diplomatic ties between Georgia and the State of Israel.”
As the executive director, Jones will oversee GSN’s strategic vision, political engagement, fundraising efforts, grassroots advocacy, and statewide outreach.
Jones, who has lived in Atlanta for more than 30 years, is a board member of Jewish National Fund and the National Council of Jewish Women.
“From being present for the signing of landmark legislation protecting the Jewish community, to cheering Team Israel at the World Games, to establishing bipartisan and bicameral caucuses in our region to connecting hostage families and Oct. 7 massacre survivors with leaders in our region … my work has been the most fulfilling of my life,” Jones said about her time at the Israeli consulate.
