Mister Burger
308 Pharr Road, Buckhead
Located at the Savi Market on Pharr Road, Mister Burger is open Thursday-Sunday for smashburgers. The catch? These smashburgers are only available in the evening, starting at 7 p.m. Open late nights, including until 3:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Drive-through service available.
Henri’s Bakery
Piedmont Park, near aquatic center
The Piedmont Park location of Henri’s Bakery is now open adjacent the aquatic center for coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and other baked goods. Henri’s is currently open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Mission Burger Co.
2065 Defoors Ferry Road, Underwood Hills
Austin-based vegan burger and sandwich restaurant Mission Burger Co. is now open in Underwood Hills.
Communidad Taqueria and Market
655 Highland Ave., Old Fourth Ward
Chef Nick Melvin opened Communidad Taqueria and Market in the old Highland Bakery in June. The Tex-Mex restaurant and market serves an all-day menu of tacos, burritos, and margaritas, along with Mexican pastries and breads, such as conchas, and generous slices of cake from Teresa Finney of At Heart Panaderia. We highly recommend the chilaquiles here!

Billy’s AvondaleÂ
121 Center St., Avondale Estates
Longtime Avondale Estates resident Billy Elek opened Billy’s Avondale. The sandwich shop, located on Center Street, serves takes on Jersey- and Philly-style sandwiches. Look for six sandwiches on the menu, including a house-roasted pork sandwich called The Fairfield with braised spinach and provolone on a cornmeal-dusted kaiser roll, and dessert sliders served on brioche buns with house-made marshmallow. Elek plans to expand the menu over time.Â
Wa’haka
4474 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody
Wa’haka opened in the former Takorea space at the Georgetown shopping center in Dunwoody. The restaurant is owned by Cesar Hernandez, who is also part-owner of critically acclaimed Oaxaca in Chamblee. Expect dishes from the Mexican state of Oaxaca here, including tlayudas and moles, along with Tex-Mex dishes of enchiladas, nachos, and fajitas. Look for the bar to serve variations on margaritas and other cocktails made with mezcal and tequila.
Yaba’s Bagels
4780 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody
Yaba’s Bagels, described as a shop that makes bagels and bagel sandwiches just like they do in Brooklyn and Manhattan, is now open in Dunwoody. Bagels are boiled and baked fresh every morning. Check out the menu.
Dosa Boti
1210 Canton St., Roswell
Located inside a mini mart in downtown Roswell, this counter-service Indian restaurant recently opened in the former Rhea’s Burgers space, serving dishes like chicken tikka boti, samosas, and Chicken 65.
Walk-On’s Sports BistreauxÂ
Battery Atlanta, Cobb County
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux opened at the Battery Atlanta, just outside Truist Park, home of Braves baseball. The sports bar serves a Cajun-inspired food menu and features 50 TVs.
Shake ShackÂ
Battery Atlanta, Cobb County
Shake Shack opened at the Battery Atlanta and includes a double-sided bar with outdoor seating, a walk-up window serving beer and cocktails, free arcade games, and a hot dog cart on game days.

Coming Attractions
The Chai Box
1963 Howell Mill Road, Buckhead
Monica Sunny announced via Instagram that she will open The Chai Box as a cafe in the former Doughnut Dollie’s space on Howell Mill Road. Sunny told Rough Draft that she’s aiming for a late November opening.
Pink Lotus
976 Brady Ave., Westside Atlanta
The owners behind 26 Thai Kitchen will open Pink Lotus on July 8 in the former Donetto space at the Stockyards, the same complex as The Painted Duck, and adjacent to both Avize and Miller Union. Expect a variety of Thai dishes, along with cocktails, beer, and wine.
Spiller Park Coffee
999 Peachtree St., Midtown
The Midtown location of Spiller Park Coffee will likely open by the end of August at 999 Peachtree, the same building as Lazy Betty. Owner Dale Donchey gave followers a peek at the progress at the new location, which will include coffee, toasts, and bagels.Â
Cava
6th Street, Midtown
Plans for a location of Mediterranean restaurant chain Cava are moving forward in Midtown. Cava will replace the former QT on 6th Street.

Underground Atlanta

Pizza spot Dolo’s Pizza will relocate from Lower Alabama to Upper Alabama and be joined by a new all-day restaurant, Underground Diner. A six-stall food hall is also in the works on Upper Alabama and expected to open ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tyde Tate Kitchen
Krog Street Market, Inman Park
Thai restaurant Tyde Tate Kitchen will open this summer in the former Recess space at Krog Street Market, according to a press release. Owned by brother and sister Sai Untachantr and Bank Bhamaraniyama, Tyde Tate includes locations at Chattahoochee Food Works and along Hotel Row in South Downtown.
Little Tart Bakeshop
1645 Mclendon Ave., Candler Park
A fourth location of Little Tart Bakeshop will open next year in Candler Park. The popular bakery and cafe, owned by Sarah O’Brien, will take over the former Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party space on Mclendon Avenue. The tea room relocated to Grant Park earlier this year, becoming part of biscuit and coffee shop Howdy ATL across from Zoo Atlanta.
Cremalosa
21 North Avondale Plaza, Avondale Estates
Gelato shop Cremalosa, owned by former AJC dining critic Meridith Ford, will relocate from East College Avenue in Decatur to the Dale in Avondale Estates. Cremalosa, which opened in 2020, closed in Decatur on June 21 and will reopen at the Dale on Sept. 1.Â
Glide Pizza and Brainwave Pizza
Decatur
After nearly three years inside the taproom at Inner Voice Brewing in Decatur, Glide Pizza will wind down service there on July 13. But a new pizza spot called Brainwave Pizza will replace Glide in July, serving sourdough crust pies by the slice and whole pizza. Keep an eye out for a formal announcement on where Glide Pizza will open next.
Vice Steak Bar
3100 Heritage Walk, Alpharetta
Chef Nick Leahy will open Vice Steak Bar at Heritage Walk in Milton on July 1, next door to his burger joint, Smash Burger by Vice. The two restaurants source beef from Leahy’s butcher shop and market, Vice Kitchen, on Medlock Bridge in Johns Creek. The menu at Vice Steak features a family-style platter serving up to six people, which comes with American wagyu and a cowboy ribeye accompanied by four side dishes and two sauces for $165.
Truth Be Told
1104 Canton St., Roswell
Cocktail lounge Truth Be Told will open this summer in the former Rice Thai restaurant space on Canton Street in downtown Roswell. Expect cocktails and a small menu of food.
STIR and Tonic House
The Medley, Johns Creek
Oyster bar and cocktail bar STIR and Tonic House will open next fall at the emerging Medley complex in Johns Creek.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Opening in the coming months at the Atlanta airport: ATL Farms Market and Corner Cafe on Concourse A; Southern Farms Market and Antico Pizza on Concourse B; and Local Green Atlanta, Half Moon Empanadas, Cava, and Starbucks on Concourse C.
