Tucker Parks and Recreation kicked off the city’s North Pole at Tucker on Saturday, Dec. 6, the first official event at the recently opened Tucker Town Green.

The hot chocolate was flowing throughout the nippy temperatures, which dipped into the low 30s as the Christmas tree and menorah were lit Saturday night.

The hot chocolate booth was hosted by four Georgia State University mens’ basketball team members, which was a nice surprise for guests, said Erica Rocker, Tucker’s economic development director. The city has not confirmed a head count, but attendance was strong for the winter wonderland at the Town Green.

The evening also featured a visit from Santa and a Christmas Train, which remained in motion for most of the night. Tucker’s downtown businesses also got a major boost from the holiday happenings.

“A few of our Main Street businesses were on hand to provide hot food for purchase that made the day special,” Rocker told Rough Draft Atlanta. “The Town Green is already showing an uptick in visitors and patrons to downtown Tucker and proving it was worth the investment. “
