Dunwoody Municipal Elections Set for November 2025

The next City of Dunwoody municipal election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. City Council posts to be voted on are City Council Post 1 (District 1), currently held by Catherine Lautenbacher, City Council Post 2 (District 2), currently held by Rob Price, and City Council Post 3 (District 3), currently held by Tom Lambert.

If a runoff election is necessary, the runoff election would be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

The mayor and council members serve four-year terms. To run for office, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Be a resident of Dunwoody for at least 12 consecutive months before the election
• Reside in the district they seek to represent for at least six consecutive months before the election
• Continue to live in the city (and the district, for council candidates) throughout their term
• Be registered and qualified to vote in Dunwoody municipal elections

Qualifying to Run

Candidates must qualify in person at Dunwoody City Hall, located at 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road. The qualifying period runs:

• Mon., Aug. 18 through Wed., Aug. 20, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To qualify, candidates can either:

• File a Notice of Candidacy and pay a qualifying fee
• File a Notice of Candidacy, a qualifying petition, and a Pauper’s Affidavit if unable to pay the fee

All candidates must file a Declaration of Intention (DOI) with the city clerk before accepting monetary or in-kind donations.

All candidates to accept campaign contributions meet city and state qualifications to run.

Qualifying Fees

Fees are set at 3% of the previous year’s gross salary for the office:

• City Council: $360
