We’re kicking off this year’s festival with a special Kidnote celebrating internationally bestselling author Angie Thomas and her new book, “Nic Blake and the Remarkables: The Book of Anansi,” the highly anticipated sequel to the instant #1 bestseller.
The Keynote discussion features award-winning author Saeed Jones for a powerful conversation with Victoria Chang, Tiana Clark, and Aruni Kashyap—three voices from “The People’s Project,” a bold new anthology exploring creativity, identity, and resilience in uncertain times.

The Kidnote event is at 6 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 3 in Presser Hall at Agnes Scott College, and the Keynote discussion is at 7 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 3 in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Angie Thomas’ books will be available for purchase from Little Shop of Stories via this link, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Decatur Book Festival.
“The People’s Project” and other books by our Keynote guest authors will be available for purchase from Charis Books & More via this link, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Decatur Book Festival.
